I participated in the Glenfidich AiR(Artists in Residence Programme) at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Speyside, Scotland, from early May 2019 to early August 2019. Glenfiddich Distillery is one of the representative distillery producing Scotch Whisky. I have produced three video series during the residency period and have stored these data on a USB memory stick. And I decided to mature 100 years in the whisky bottle I bought here for the first time. Scottish people are known to categorise their varied climate with a number of unique names. Among them, 'Watergaw' is the Scottish native climate name for a piece of rainbow that appears briefly in the sky after the rain. I hope that this art project 'Watergaw' will be warmly welcomed by people in 2119 when it will be revealed.

나는 2019년 5월초부터 8월초까지 스코틀랜드 스페이사이드지역에 위치한 글렌피딕 증류소의 아티스트인레지던스 프로그램에 참가하였다. 글랜피딕 증류소는 스키치 위스키를 제조하는 대표적인 증류소중 하나이다. 나는 레지던시 기간동안 3가지 영상시리즈 작업을 제작하였고, 이 작업데이타를 USB메모리스틱에 저장하였다. 그리고 나는 내가 이곳에서 처음 구매하였던 위스키병 속에 담아 100년을 숙성하기로 결정하였다. 스코틀랜드 사람들은 변화무쌍한 기후현상에 대하여 다양한 고유 이름을 붙여 부르고 있다. 그 중 'Watergaw'는 비온 후 갠 하늘에 잠시 나타나는 무지개 빛 일부분을 일컫는 스코틀랜드 고유의 기후이름이다. 나는 이 작업이 공개되는 2119년의 사람들에게 따스한 온기로 다가가기를 희망해 본다.
